Lourdes Grotto, St Michaels Catholic Church. Built from sugar cane and seashells, it was built in 1876.
"Los Islenos" museum and grounds is located in St Bernard Parish, near Chalmette, Louisiana. The museum celebrates the people who settled the area in the late 1700's. Coming from the Canary Islands, they were tied to Spain and maintained traditional culture yet set up a community and learned how to live in the bayous of south Louisiana. Some staff of this museum can trace their heritage to the earliest of those who settled the region.

A pirogue which was carved out around 1870 by Alejandro "Call" Menesses. This stye of craft is still very popular to travel in the bayous.
The Esteves House was one of the original homes built in the area. It was moved to the museum grounds and restored . Insulation within the walls is a mixture of mud and moss as it was when originally built.

Carved from solid wood, the decoys on display are exceptionally detailed.
